Post 4: A picture I like

Imagen
Dear readers: Today I want to tell you about a special image for me. More than the picture itself, is about the meaning behind it. “The rays of the sun that filter through the leaves of the trees” It's a non-literal translation of the Komorebi word (of Japanese origin).  The story behind the word is when I try to search for a more original name for my instagram. That's when I found komorebi, when I learned its untranslatable graphic description, I fell in love with the word.  This image represents peace and makes me see life better at times when I don't feel motivated. I think it’s the most beatiful life’s picture than I see. Every time I feel bad I imagine and remember moments in which this image is present: In the park laying down with my boyfriend watching the trees, with my family on the road traveling to the south admiring the rays of the sun in the endless green trees, for a walk with my best friend in the countryside, among others.  This image means a lot to me. It...

Post 3: My Favorite Piece of Technology

Imagen
Dear readers: I'm here today to tell you about my favorite technology item. Without thinking about it, the cellphone is my favorite one, specifically mine. I remember when I was eleven or twelve I started using it. I used it to play Pou, a very famous game for many years. Currently I use it to talk with friends, read texts and musical articles, play games, listen to music, read emails and watch videos, take photos and record videos. Also, I like to edit my photos in a program and it is one of my favorite hobbies. It is a very good tool, and even more so in the pandemic. But sometimes time goes by very quickly when I use it on several occasions, it affects me and produces a type of procrastination in me. Still, I would recommend using it. Life today is technological, and we must adapt to this change. It causes many facilities and improvements in my life, although we must be careful with the time we use it daily. This is a picture of my cell phone.

Why did I choose my major?

Dear readers! It is me again. Today I want to tell you about how I decided to study music theory. It wasn't always like that, I remember that when I was little I never thought about a specific professional career, because I dressed up as different professions every day. But growing up, when I was ten years old, I was on vacation and I began to watch the Viña del Mar Festival. It was there that the violin caught my attention for the first time, and I decided that I wanted to play that instrument.  At school I joined an orchestra at the age of eleven and also received violin classes. It was great, I participated in several musical meetings and I am very grateful for the teaching that was given to me during those years. Then I joined another orchestra, and the difficulty became even greater. I participated in several tours in the south of Chile and then took private lessons on my own with some teachers. Music has been with me ever since and has given me many beauti...

Post 1: Who am I?

Imagen
Hi everyone! I am Catalina Silva Vásquez, a Music Theory student at the Universidad de Chile. I will tell you a little about myself in my first post. I was born in Santiago de Chile and I have lived all my life in this place. I am the youngest of three brothers. I live with my parents, my brothers and two dogs. I like my family, although sometimes we have problems, we are quite united, and they have always supported me. Since I was little I have liked music and I have been playing violin since I was eleven years old. My favorite singer is Jorja  Smith, however, I like to discover and listen to different types of music. I also love making coffees and photography. Here is a photo I took a few months ago.  See you later! Thanks for reading me.
